With over 250 stores, 84 Lumber is the first and largest building materials retailer to venture into the tiny house world. The Tiny Living tiny house is now available as four different models as well as plans plus trailer combinations and a tiny house shell plus trailer.
The initial design from 84 Lumber is The Roving. This 154 square foot tiny house has what you would expect from a building supply specialist: beautiful construction details. The Roving has cedar lap siding, low-E aluminum clad windows and a 26 gauge metal roof.
It is built with 2×4 construction on a custom steel trailer with steel floor joists, aluminum rodent resistant underside, radial tires, safety brakes and four leveling jacks.
What catches your attention when you walk in is the walnut stained ceiling and the sliding barn door (that separates the bathroom from the kitchen) built with real reclaimed barn wood. Other details include LED lighting, cork flooring, Low VOC paint and stains, a composting toilet and Energy Star refrigerator. Wonderful details can also be seen in the faucet, lighting, hardware and trim.
The other models in the works are the Degsy, Shonsie and Evergreen. Each model can be customized with various styles from seaside cottage to rustic or contemporary.
The Build Your Own package ($6,884 plus tax and delivery) comes with the blueprints, materials list and the trailer outfitted with a subfloor.
The Semi-DIY package ($19,884 plus tax and delivery) includes a shell of the house on the trailer complete with windows, door and shower as well as the blueprints and materials list to finish the interior and exterior.
The Move-In Ready package ($49,884 plus tax and delivery) is a completed tiny house ready for moving in. It takes about eight to 10 weeks for completion of this package.
